And Barney recently made another foray along an extremely non-standard route.
First, he and I were on the Belaya River near Kolyvan, Altai Territory. And then from there we went to Ust-Kan “directly”, and not a detour through Barnaul and Biysk. From that side, no tourists enter Altai, but in vain. The places there are remote, the road is mostly country, but such beauty! First, endless fields, then green hills with villages lost between them, then Altai. There, on the way, we stopped at Denisova Cave, by the way.
And then Barney climbed the Kaitanak Pass and Red Mountain. And this was the most fun. Katu-Yaryk is baby talk compared to Red Mountain! Halfway down the road with a steep angle of climb, huge boulders under the wheels, roots, branches, mud, a stream flowing down, wow! Few people go there in their car, and even more so no one goes there in a motorhome. We spent the night on the mountain completely, completely alone, in the wind and thunderstorm, but in a warm and cozy living quarters.
In general, Barney did well. He made his way everywhere, went everywhere, even though we fucked in places. And nothing even fell off, which is really surprising. I returned home safe, just to change the oil.
Special thanks to the guys from Van Center (https://vk.com/furgoncentr), who made the sleeping compartment and installed it very well. There the frame was so twisted in places that any European camper would have been torn to shreds.
It seems that we have a great crazy bear for crazy owners. Order, we'll do it :)
