Grizzly Green is ready to go again!
For the second half of autumn he did not leave his workshops. We just love finishing it and redoing it :)
This time we worked on weight distribution and balance. They removed everything heavy that in practice turned out to be unclaimed: the roof rack and the ladder to it, hanging drawers above the dining area, the spare tire mount on the stern (the spare tire was moved to its regular place under the bottom).
The drainage system has also been simplified. Tourists on Grizzlyk mostly stand in the forest, field, etc. None of them ever closed the valve in the waste water tank. Well, we removed this tank completely. Now the drain from the sink and shower goes straight to the ground.
In return, we got the opportunity to add new useful things.
First of all, we installed another 100Ah traction battery in the living compartment. Now the supply of electricity has doubled.
A gas water heater was hung on the wall of the bathroom. Our large gas cylinder had previously been used only for cooking, and its volume was greatly excessive. Now it will also heat the water. This eliminates the need to turn on the electric boiler, which again saves power.
Another air heater was added to the heating system - a 2 kW diesel Planar. And to store diesel, a former waste water tank was converted into it. It now holds about 25 liters of fuel. This should be enough for a week in winter, and even longer in summer. The old Webasto gasoline heater also remained in its place, as a backup. Now there are two of them. Otherwise, in the cold, you don’t want to discover that the only source of heat has become capricious.
A pressure switch was added to the water pump. Now it turns on itself when the water is opened somewhere. This allowed us to get rid of the special camper faucets on the sinks and replace them with ordinary household ones, which are much more reliable.
Well, and all sorts of little things: they re-laid the linoleum on the floor, made a cover for the mattress in the alcove, replaced several furniture panels damaged by moisture, put a new handle on the bathroom door, etc.
As a result, the car became a little lighter, the center of mass shifted down and forward, which had a positive effect on handling and stability. Well, the set of life support systems and energy reserves we have there are generally unique for such a small motorhome.
And, of course, they didn’t forget the chassis either. We tinkered with the rear suspension to prevent it from creaking, adjusted the clutch, replaced the brake pads, etc. It drives almost like a limousine :)
Something like this. This weekend we will go skiing and watch winter Altai.
Meanwhile, Potapych came to our new acquaintances, who are engaged in vans and are working on a residential module for a new bear. We will make a large, convenient door for Potapych to access the luggage compartment from the street. We will also install a new skylight with an exhaust fan. And we will seal the entire roof and renew the sealant.
