Six years ago two friends in Novosibirsk decided to mess about with motorhomes, and they needed a name for the venture.

One of them, who owns the excellent Siberian Bears football school (https://siberian-bears.ru), kindly let the other one take liberties with that name — and with the logo while he was at it.

That is how Siberian Motorbears came about.

That second fellow speaks a lot of English for a living, and so he did not immediately notice what was obvious to everyone else: most potential Russian-speaking customers can neither pronounce the name nor remember it, let alone catch the pun on "motorhomes".

We lived like that for six years. Time to finally fix it.

So: we are now more or less officially a bilingual brand, and in Russian we will be called Сибмотобэр. It is short, it sounds good, and it stays close to the old name. And "бэр/бер", for what it is worth, is one of the old Slavic words for a bear, borrowed from Germanic tribes — it is where "берлога" (a bear's den) comes from.

We have already parked a Cyrillic domain with a redirect, just in case: http://сибмотобэр.рф

PS. If anyone thinks we have disappeared — they are wrong :)

The bears are out driving, being designed, being built — everything is going as it should.

There is just no time for posting, so please do not hold it against us.
