Long time no see?

This summer we took some time off. The last three years have been very busy and active.

As we said before, the siberian motorbears team is now focusing its efforts on stepping to the next level and getting deeply involved in the production of motorhomes. We have several basic principles (or tasks) that dictate to us what and how to build:

- Budget. We don't want to make fancy, expensive toys for a few wealthy fans. It's too simple and boring. It is much more difficult to create a serial product accessible to a relatively mass consumer.

- Suitability for rental. Rental offices are an important sales market. We ourselves are not going to close our rental. So we are trying to design models that will be suitable for rental. And this, first of all, requires a fast, predictable payback and VERY good maintainability. During the season, rental companies have 2-3 days between departures. This means that everything that can break in a motorhome must be repaired or completely replaced within this period in any major city.

- Import substitution :) It naturally follows from the first two principles. Imported components are more expensive, and repairing/replacing them takes longer and is more difficult. And in general, it's just interesting.

We currently have two main projects in progress.

The first is a fairly ordinary motorhome of the European type and the usual layout. The important thing here is that we want to make a full-fledged single-volume car, and make it in series. This means that we need OTTS, certification, and other bureaucratic blah blah blah. This quest took much longer than we originally expected. Therefore, while it is being played through at a leisurely pace, we will return to the second option:

Baribali :) Barney, by the way, has already been sold. It will be replaced by production of Baribala 2.0 in the next couple of months. Naturally, taking into account all the conclusions that we have drawn from the production and operation of Barney:

- We transfer all engineering systems from under the bottom to the “hump” at the stern. This will make it easier to remove/install the living compartment and simplify maintenance of the entire engineering system.

- Purchased awnings and shower screens are not as good as we would like. We have already designed our own replacement options: simpler, stronger, more reliable.

- The awning will be fan-shaped and with a full set of walls. Around Baribal there will be a covered room with an area twice the size of himself.

- Folding berths will be designed differently.

- Access to the cabin and passenger seats with seat belts are provided immediately at the design stage.

- The windows will be different and placed more conveniently.

- Hanging drawers with improved design

- etc.

In general, apparently, at least two, and maybe three Baribals will be laid somewhere in October. And they will be ready for the next tourist season. We hint: now is the time to order Baribal for yourself. The more we do at once, the cheaper it will be.

Also, it somehow happened by chance that the name “Baribal” was chosen very well for the breed. Under it, you can come up with a whole bunch of personal names for bears, starting with “Bar” or something like that :)
